CADKEY 97 on XP64

Anybody know how to get CADKEY 97 to load on a 64-bit workstation? It
tells me the install image is valid but not for this kind of machine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Haven't used any CADKEY release on an OS beyond NT4, 2000, or XP. Any of those three work well. Windows 95 and 98 quit loading or saving CADKEY files whenever sizes reach about 15 mb and Windows ME is worse still, limiting file sizes to about 10 mb. None of those three can support very complex surface/solids generating routines (ones that might generate saved file sizes in that 10-15 mb range). Very frustrating sometimes because one might actually let the system crank away until the operation finished and then even be able to do surfaces or solids rendering but aside from exporting the renderings, the file results have to be abandoned.

I think the news isn't what anyone wants to hear. Either use an newer OS tailored to run 32 bit applications or keep an old system running, preferably NT based (NT, 2000, XP) and not DOS Windows based (3.x, 95, 98, ME).

And if you use solids best find yourself a CADKEY 98, 99 or 19 release because CADKEY 97 and 97 release 2 solids are less stable. 98 was the first release to merge CADKEY Solids with the more robust 3rd party produced product FastSOLID as a single modeler, "Solids". 97 isn't terrible but most solids based file corruption issues I saw when working for CADKEY Corp came from that release. Not so bad for rectangular conic and single foci circular shapes, but mirroring, scaling, ellipses, splines and complex intersections begin to tax that quickly and mirroring alone can occasionally create problems in all releases, usually not with the initial mirrored result, but with solids operations applied to the mirrored solid within a few operations of having created it.
