Hello everybody,

I would need to know if somebody know one or more CAD software that is
involve
in electrical drawing. Is there an add-on to Autocad. I worked for 3
years for a company
that do lots and lots of electrical drawings and we are looking for
something that we could
use with MS Excel to make our bill of material. THANK FOR YOUR ANSWER.

For Electrical Software, see http://www.mooredesign.net.

For Bill of Materials to Excel, see AutoCELL at http://www.dotsoft.com.

Have a look at HiLEDS 99 at http://www.exdes.com.

HiLEDS works with AutoCAD 2000 and Release 14. This is a general purpose
parametric design program, which can be used to add 'intelligence' to
AutoCAD drawings. For example, you could add a series of equations to an
elecrical or electronic drawing, which would perform design
calculations.

An Electronic Design library will be released this week (available to
registered users only), followed by an Electrical Design Library in
about a month.

Regarding the Bill of Material problem, have you tried extracting
attribute data in comma-delimited-format (CDF). You should be able to
import this into Excel quite simply. The main problem would be to
standardise any attribute names associated with blocks in your drawings.
