Hi, I just purchased a widescreen monitor.
If I use the 14:3 aspect ratio, everything is fine, except I'm not using the
whole screen
If I change the ratio, everything is stretched and out of proportion.
What do I do?
Do I need drivers or a new video card?

Thanks,
jojo

Have you ever seen what they call "letterbox" format on TV? That is the
result of showing widescreen format on regular TV screens. The problem you
have is the opposite. How do you propose to stretch X without stretching Y
and not get distortion? You just bought big, black screen borders.

For the sharpest display, you must match the Windows screen resolution to
the native resolution of the monitor. Other resolutions will work, but must
have the same aspect ratio, such as 16:9, as the display.

Check the available resolutions in your display settings. If there is not
the right one, search for PowerStrip, a utility which may let you set any
resolution.
