I need to know if there is a program or way to import an Excel Spreadsheet
like a schedule into a editable AutoCAD drawing? Please email me.

Thanks,
Curt

Curtis,
If you are using AutoCAD 2000 or greater.

Do a copy of the Excel spreadsheet, then in AutoCAD do a Paste Special
and as an AutoCAD Entity. It will be editable in AutoCAD like any thing
else.

That works fine, but I can not print to my plotter. The text comes out as
black boxes. Has anyone else experienced this?

I suspect you did not paste it as an AutoCAD entity !

This option is in the Paste Special Box.

Keith,
This works in R14 also.
The paste special / autocad entities gives you standard autocad text
and lines. There should be no problem printing these. If you have
filled areas in excel these may come in as solid areas, possibly
black. Best bet is to clean up the excel file before doing the cut and
paste. Once the spreadsheet is in the drawing, explode it so you can
edit it and delete problem entities..

Once the Excel file is exploded it is no longer an OLE object correct? I
was looking for a way to do my schedules and edit them in Excel but have
them print on my CD sheets, preferably with out numerous steps on my end.
Re-inserting the spread sheet after each change is not very practical.

The spread sheet in Excel is as basic as it gets, a grid and text, no
fills/colors. The pasting procedure works fine when printing to a laser jet
printer but not to the plotter. The 'black boxes' I refer to are in place
of the characters, meaning a four letter word looks like four character
size boxes (the dimension of these boxes correspond to the extents of the
character)

thanks everyone for continued suggestions.

1. Set your printer as default in the windows Printer Folder.
2. Plot in ACAD using 'System Default Priinter'.

The excel sheet is an OLE object that can't be printed through ACAD's
ADI. It prints via Windows itself.
