If i try to print/plot it, it turns out all black because it reads the
background as a pen color.
Anyone have suggestions?

Will Photoshop allow you to swap the background color with the
signature color? Like make the background black and the signature
white. Maybe acad will interpret that as it does its own entities and
background.
Just a thought.

convert the file from whatever format to dxf. import into ACAD and save
as a .DWG. then you can insert as a block. you may want to turn the
signature into a polyline also.

use your paintbrush program to create a negative of it.
PS - if your using a scanned signature for a seal, it's not binding.
PE/Architect seals must be wet (by pen, by the person).

That will most likely work just fine. You might also try converting it to a .PCX
or a .TIFF and import into autocad and save as .DWG, etc.

actually, in this state you aren't supposed to use an electronic seal
.. but few AHJs require we seals or signatures on each print.
We get by with an electronic seal, and an original signature.
The point was, you cannot use an electronic signature on an
architect's or engineer's seal. It's not binding. The seal can still
be electronically generated.

True. But when the boss wants one, I don't like to tell him I can
make him one, but won't. He just uses it for cutesy stuff, anyway.
The .WMF flavor can be used in letters and other non-official
documents. They look a lot better than the plain scanned ones.
(unless they're scanned at 800 dpi, or somethin')
Bob
Try inverting the image before you copy and paste. White to black, and black
to white.
Don't mention it.
Here's another idea: Use a tracing program like Corel Trace and export
the image as a dxf.
I've also had great success with this: Paste the image onto your windows
clipboard from photoshop. Then switch to AutoCad and use the "Paste
Special" option from the Edit menu. It should give you the option of
importing the clipboard image as dxf entities...Works Great- and is less
filling.
Good Luck,

This process may be called "NEGATIVE" in your graphic editor paint
program.
I scanned my signature and inserted it on the drawing. It then plotted it.
The printing is some and I start stamping away......Someday, someone get
ahold of my stamped original.......$15.00 will buy you a stamp. And
bingo......'aurthoized drawing' are back in circulation!
Just a thought

Per Virginia DOPR Regulations:
Section 12.8.B.1
"All seal imprints on final documents shall bear an originial
signature and date"
The reason for this is to prevent a subordiante of yours from pirating
your seal and signature.
I believe you are breaking the law ... in my state, and probably in
yours as well
