Sample Civil Engineering Drawings

Is there a place on the web to download sample civil engineering
drawings. I am a student learning cad and have never seen "real life"
engineering plans. I only do little sketches that my instructors have
us do. I am interested in seeing drawings for roads and their side
views. I am also looking for engineering cad drawings of building
sites, utility planse, buildings, bridges, subdevelopments, or
whatever. I would like to see how the entire drawings are set up by
professionals. I don't really really want to bother compainies for
them. I'm not even sure they would give them to me.

I'd recommend calling around to local surveying/site planning firms,
particularly the smaller ones. If you tell them you're a student, I think
most would be happy to bring you in and show you a little of their work.
The places I've worked over the past 10 years were always looking for people
with such motivation. Keep in mind that these people are generally busy and
pressed for time, but most are willing to help anyone looking to improve
themself professionally. If you make an appointment to visit with them, be
sure that you keep the appointment and be on time.

If you go to your local state's DOT site, you can often find sample
drawings. The NJDOT site has them in PDF format. You can download a
complete set of sample drawings.
