Creating linetypes

At work, we like to to define our own linetype as for the cadd operators
so that they can be easily loaded [by defining them ie storm, gas, etc]
and getting the linetype in [ie hidden center, etc] is obviously no trouble
however, what we WOULD like to do is have characters in the line at some
intervals [ie f's for our fence linetype], anyone know how to do this?
