I am interested in finding publications (either on-line or printed docs)
which explain how a DXF file is defined. I need to do a little editing
on a DXF file, so having the standard format would be handy.

If you know of any publications or articles, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks alot..

I use the AutoCad references together with a book called AutoCAD Desktop
Companion
(Robert M. Thomas, Sybex, 1989 -- I'm sure they have updated it since then)

Also, the best reference is the .DXF file, itself. Simply Draw an entity,
DXF it out (using the entities option to avoid all the overhead stuff at the
top of the file) and open the resulting DXF file with a text editor. You
will get a DXF description of the entity, so you can see how ACAD writes
the format) for an explanation of the group codes, see the aforementioned
references.

best of luck.
