Hi!

I would like to know how to have the inside of a clip boundary removed
versus the outside.

I want to xref the roof plan into a new drawing to create an attic plan and
remove the roof info from inside the attic area

Thanks in advance...

Carl

Something like this was covered a while back regarding an xclip with a hole.
try a search with xclip and hole and see what comes up.

there are a few options that i can think of,
use the wipeout command if you have express tools and mask out the desired
section.
piece 2 'c' shaped xclips together in the shape of an 'o'
set up the base drawings layers so the desired section of roof can be turned
off.

hope this helps

Keith,

Thank you very much.

I found the previous newsgroup thread and also searched the Autodesk
knowledge base. Both described a process of making two clip boundaries
(outer and inner) connected by two slightly offset lines and trimming them
to make one boundary. While the area between the two offset lines is
removed, if they are very close you won't see the cut.

I had already decided to "set up the base drawing" to turn off the desired
area, but tried the wipeout command which worked very well and I will try it
next time.

Thanks again,

Carl
