I learned on Acad 12 and have only used it in my work. Now our
company may go to Acad LT. Is LT any better/worse? Other than
interface what are major diff's. My drawing file sizes rarely go over
500k, 4 layers at most in a dwg. Thanks.

I have now been using AutoCAD LT 97 for allmost one year.
It is very good, and gives very little troubbles.
Before that I used R12 and R13 with different applications, and had all
kinds of problems and fall-outs.
If you don't need the 3D-function, AutoCAD LT is very good.
You can see drawings of my homebuild car og a map-drawing om my home-page.
Best regards

AutoCAD LT is just like R12 except it doesn't allow behind the scenes
progamming, or lisp. So, if you eventually want to go and use a third
part add-on you won't be able to. If all you want to do is manually
draw lines, circles and arc's then LT is a cheaper way to go.

If your company is trying to save money from having to buy several
copies of the full blown AutoCAD then before buying many LT's you might
want to ask your dealer if, later on, you can upgrade the LT's to a full
blown AutoCAD and what would the price be.
