When I import an AutoCAD HPGL/PLT file into Microsoft Word 2.0 and print
the document
the drawing almost disappear and all the lines are equal thickness.
This was working much better in Word Perfect.

Is there a different way/driver that might solve this problem ?

I am now using the Hewlett-Packard (HP-GL) ADI 4.2 - by Autodesk, Inc
(7475) driver.

Double click the picture in Word and edit line thickness in the graphics
editor

You can use the graphic editor in Word to modify the line
thicknesses. I haven't used Word 2 in a while, but double clicking on
the graphic will (should) bring up the graphic editor. You can select
the lines and use the line width tool to change the width. Word Perfect
has a similar feature as I remember.
The line thickness is not embedded in the file when you plot from
ACAD.

Try the OLE that both applications are suposed to support in
Windows.Just open your drawing in Autocad then from Edit menu select
copy link (actually there are more copy possibilities in that menu, you
can play with all them). Now open your document in Word (you should
really get Word 6.0 or a newer text editor) select Edit menu and Paste.
You will heave a frame containing your drawing. More than that, double
clicking in that frame will open Autocad so you can edit that drawing
and any changes you are making will be updated in your document as well.
Hope that this will solve your problem.
Bye !
