open a dxf file out of the Explorer!

When I try to open a dxf file out of the Explorer by double-clicking the
Icon, the application ACAD does start but it doesn't open the dxf- Drawing.
ACAD brings up the following Error message: "can't open file. Make sure file
does exist"
How do I register the dxf file in the "Options" of the Explorer ?
