Hi all,

I am working on a project in which we have to read and write DXF files, both
ASCII and binary. In ACADR 12, the docs were both accurate to the minute
detail as well as correct in what they said about the file format, and
everything worked just great.

In ACADR 13, however, there are some glitches in the docs:

+) The docs say that the groupcode in binary DXF is a single byte. However,
the actual size in a binary DXF file generated by ACAD is 2 bytes.

+) The docs say that groupcodes 280-289 are followed by an 8-bit integer.
The file actually contains 16-bit ints instead.

+) Several groupcodes are not listed in the docs, but appear in files,
e.g. the range 176-180, which appears in DIMSTYLE definitions.

The problem with binary DXFs is that it's impossible to read them unless
the exact data size for every groupcode is known.

Does anyone have an accurate and complete listing of the groupcodes for R13?
Does anyone know of any more bugs in the docs wrt DXF formats? Has anyone
ever tried to read an R12 binary DXF into R13?

Any help will be gladly appreciated,
Regards,
MfG
