I wish to use a digitizer to measure paper drawings etc, How do I use it in
conjunction with AutoCAD

Do I have to digitize areas lengths etc into a drawing before I can measure
them?

What about scale - i.e. the drawing is a scaled drawing issued as a plot.

What about menus - Where do I obtain the digitizer measurement menus for use
with AutoCAD.

Please don't reply to this email directly as my address is fictitious to

Thanks

When a tablet is used as a digitizer, it is just that. You pick points on
the digitizer (which is connected to your computer and AutoCAD through a
Windows WinTab driver), then tell AutoCAD how far apart they are, either by
picking corresponding points on the screen or keying in the desired
distance. The accuracy of the final digitized drawing will depend on the
care with which the digitizing is done.

If you really just want to "measure" paper drawings, you'll probably do
better with an engineer's scale or architect's scale, and forget AutoCAD
altogether.
