Now, divide both sides by 3:
3"/3 = 96"/3, which is the same as 1" = 32"
The scale ratio for 3/8"=1' is therefore 1:32
Simple H.S. algebra.

1/4"=12" equates to 1/48 scale because
(4)*(1/4) = (4)*(12)
therefore 4/4 = 48 or
1 = 48
3/8"=1' is the same as 3/8" = 12"
multiplying both sides by 8 gives you...
(8)*(3/8) = (8)*(12)
24/8 = 96 or
3 = 96 or (dividing by 3)
1 = 16
Another way to figure scale is to ask how many times does 1/4" go into
12"? Well it goes 4 times per inch times 12 inches equals 48.
3/8" goes into 12" (96/8) sixteen times. Hope this helped.

1:16 is the ratio for 3/4"=1'

I take it you actually mean 3/8" =3D 1'
Well, there are 96, 1/8ths of an inch in a foot, so there would be
96/3. 3/8ths of an inch in a foot or 32.

Why would you want to use a ratio scale to draw? why not work full
size?
What dialog box do you use to set scales in?
