In order to create a vector-graphics file output in a format that
is compatible with .dxf format for autodesk 3D studio, we need
sources for generating .dxf files, in particular for writing
polygons, rectangles, and similar simple 2 dimensional objects.
(Our program runs under X11 and uses corresponding data structures).
We just don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone has this or
similar software (c-subroutines?) available.
Thanks for any hints.
the DISK Software, Inc In TX has a TGL 4.0 c code for CAD/CAM/CAE
The price is just $500. It has utility to read and write DXF file.
Because the source is provided, you can put it in X11.
A company called Building Block Software sells a set of libraries called
CAD/CAM Developers Kit/DXF which provides a rich set of functions for
manipulating DXF files.
>(Our program runs under X11 and uses corresponding data structures).
Unfortunately the product runs on PCs under MS-DOS so its probably
not quite what you are looking for. However, I have heard rumors that
they may be working on a "workstation" version which presumably will be a
UNIX product. You might want to check them out.

Disclaimer: I have no connection with BBS; in fact I have not even used
the aforementioned product. I have talked with coworkers who have told
me that CCDK/DXF is an excellent product and has saved them a _lot_ of
time and effort. I intend to buy a copy.
