According to FCC common practices. No less that +10 dBmV at the ground
block after a 100feet drop on the highest carrier(Analog). In the back of
the TV should be no less that zero at the highest carrier. For digital it is
recommended to be somewhere from -15dBmV to +5dBmV. However, I have seen TVs
working fine on the minus 8 and I have seen digital converters working in
the minus high 20s.If a cable company cannot provide those minimum
requirements is because is either old, not well designed or you need better
cabling configuration in your house. Call them up first and find out what
they can do. If you are lucky you will get a good Customer service rep and
he/she will set you up for a service call.Make sure is not the cable in your
house or they might charge you. If they don't fix it get a Sat. dish.
Competition is a great solution for consumers.
