Local cable police installed ARCOM MLP-282 low pass filter on my cable
line, which blocks everything above ~Ch35. I can remove the filter
(in-ground box) and restore my 100 channels, but looking for more
transparent solution. Some research indicates ARCOM makes low pass
filters with higher cutoff points, for example MLP-600 cuts out
everything above Ch88. Does anyone know if these filters look the
same or are they different sizes, and where can you buy them?

If they are the approx same size, my plan is to buy one with a higher
cutoff and transfer the decal...so the cable police will see what
appears to be the 282 next time they check the line. Or maybe someone
can offer a better idea?

Bad place to ask about cable filters here on the newsgroup. Gary Tait cable
company asshole will turn you in to the cable police!

If you don't wish to actually steal cable, ask them to remove their
filter to access the channels you are entitled to get.

Traps vary in size and shape, It's very unlikely another trap would
be the same size. Usually they would not even notice the difference if
they came to your house for a service call, service techs don't look
for things like that. The trap is suppose to be at the pole or in the
pedestal, not at your grounding block! Removing it woul be illegal but
it's your call
