Japan

lowest duty rates in the world, also Japan has a allows 2,500 manufactured
products duty-free.

2) Receptivity to U.S. Goods: Very high in Consumer Goods and goods
associated with American lifestyles

3) Language: Japanese of course predominate, English for business purposes
is rapidly increasing.

The general option of the U.S. public is that Japan is unfair, one-sided and
is totally dominating the U.S. regarding Int'l Export \ Import practices.
This is the presentation the six o'clock News would have you believe, please
do not judge Japans Export possibilities from half truths that do not effect
80% of the U.S. companies Exporting to Japan.

The trade difficulties with Japan are about multi billion dollar Japanese
Government Procurement's, restrictions on U.S. Auto & Truck Manufactures and
Major billion dollar Telecommunications Projects. These situations are
Government to Government problems involving multi national mega
corporations. The Trade Deficit with Japan does not directly affect ITB or
any Associates and never has.

The U.S. Exported appox 90 billion USD worth of products in 1995, 1996 is
expected to rise to 100+ billion USD, since 1993 Exports have increased
appox 10% each year, so we must be doing something right. Last comment about
this Japan stuff .... Export more!
