SATELLITE MINI-M PHONE (Picture 1)
If you travel on business or work across the world you'll understand
the perils of outdated phone networks, expensive and insecure hotel
phones, payphones that don't work...
MINI-M puts all that in the past. One satellite phone works over 95%
of the planet's surface. One global number makes you accessible
wherever you are. One standard charge gives you calls to anywhere.
One touch of a button dials the world. If you can get there you can
call from there.
One complete communications tool
WorldPhone weighs just 2.4kg. The built-in battery and charger give
you 50 hours of standby power and 3 hours of talktime. As well as
phoning, you can send and receive faxes, data, scanned images and
e-mail - whether in remote outpost or modern city. You can connect
directly to computer, external fax or second handset. And recharge
from a wide range of power sources including a car lighter socket.
You also save the price of a modem needed for landline or cellular
communications.
One minute to set up
Though no large than a laptop PC, Nera WoldPhone has a powerful
satellite antenna built in. The antenna is the detachable lid of the
carrying case. Place it up to 80 metres away (OPTIONAL CABLE) and
simply turn it until the audio signal tells you you're turned to the
satellite. It takes no more than a minute or two to get ready. And
then it's simpler to use than many ordinary deskphones.
The antenna connects you to Inmarsat's global satellite service, with
clarity and coverage far better than any cellular phone. Satellite
communications are a bargain for continuous coverage. Global
connections often cost far less than calls from hotel phones. The
friendly, plain-English display prompts you through all functions
available in the help manual: speed dial; menu and cursor use; 99
number memory; password security, and much more.

Space Phone gives you true global mobility.
This new mobile satellite phone operates on the new Inmarsat mini-M
system. Via satellite Space Phone will connect you to the
international telecommunications network in seconds. It doesn't
matter where you are. From remote areas of Africa to a densely
populated down town district of America, Space Phone is on line to the world.
This unique digital development in mobile telecommunications provides
high quality voice, data and fax messaging. It is as easy and as
straigh forward as using any cellphone, but without the network
restrictions. Cellular, terrestrial systems aim to cover some 15% of
the world by the year 2000. In comparison mini-M will cover over 95%
by the end of 1997 SpacePhone, comes with interfaces for fax and
data, and an additional handset. Its four separate telephone identity
numbers make it a complete communications system.
Plug in your laptop and you have access to the Internet, e-mail
messages, other computers and the capability of sending and receiving
valuable information across the globe. High-resolution pictures can
also be sent and received using optional software facilities.
Security data protection and encryption software are
also available making Spacephone safe from eavesdropping. SpacePhone
is compact and lightweight and weighs less than 2.2 kg. Its main
communications electronics are packed in a tough, water resistant,
all magnesium case.
Powerful, integrated rechargeable batteries give up to 48 hours of
standby operation and 2.5 hours of transmission and receive time.
