CLASS ACTION NOTICE

IF, AS OF SEPTEMBER 18, 1996, YOU OWNED OR FORMERLY OWNED A RESIDENCE IN
NORTH CAROLINA WITH A SYNTHETIC STUCCO EXTERIOR, PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL
NOTICE.

Proposed Settlements in a class action lawsuit, Ruff et al. v. Parex,
Inc., et al., are pending in North Carolina Superior Court in New Hanover
County. The proposed Settlements cover persons who, as of September 18,
1996, owned or formerly owned a one or two family residential dwelling or
townhouse in the state of North Carolina clad, in whole or in part, with
an Exterior Insulation and Finish System, commonly called EIFS or
Synthetic Stucco, that was manufactured by Parex, Inc., Sto Corp., W.R.
Bonsal Company, Continental Stucco Products, Inc. or Dryvit Systems, Inc.
Persons with a similar residential structure that is or was clad with
Senergy, Inc. or Thoro Systems Products, Inc. EIFS, may be affected by a
prior settlement.

EIF systems are multi-layered exterior wall systems consisting of a finish
coat, a base coat, mesh, and insulation board, all of which are attached
to plywood or another non-masonary substrate. The settlements concern
non-drainable EIFS used only as exterior siding for one or two family
residential dwellings and townhouse units. Condominiums, apartment
buildings, hotels and other commercial structures are not included.

A hearing will be held on March 17, 2000, in Courtroom 317, New Hanover
County Courthouse, Wilmington, North Carolina, for the purpose of
determining whether the proposed Settlements are fair, reasonable, and
adequate.
