I am a professional in historic preservation and architectural conservation.
Low traffic in this NG, but just checking to see if there is any interest in
reviving active discussion here...

Most posts for the past month have been off-topic or spam.

I would be interested in this discussion but unfortunately, it will take more
than two people to revive this newsgroup. You are right, it is pretty dead.

We're with you also. We can bring the craftsmen's point of few to the
subject of preservation. We've been in this business Nationally for 30
years and could offer some knowledge, even if it were slight! Eric

What kind of business do you have? What types of projects are you working
with?

We are a Victorian Job shop. This means that we specialize in victorian trim
from turnings to wooden rain gutters, but we don't make a product line. we
make to your specs.
We have done a lot of work for the National Park Service and even have work
in the White House. We did the handrail and turned balasters for a
restoration at Jeckel Island in Georgia, do you know the place? I may have
spelled it wrong!

Hi Eric, I think the work that you are doing is fantastic!! I love the
craftsmanship side of preservation. Too much of it is about economics and not
enough about the true raw talent of someone like yourself working with
traditional tools and methods.

I am an intern architect working towards being licensed. I work for a small
firm that specializes in historic preservation here in Savannah. We do quite a
bit of work including restorations and additions to historic buildings. We
have a website in progress at www.pdfpc.com. However I'm not sure how many of
our H.P. projects you'll find on there. You'll even find a picture of me on
there somewhere.

I'd love to come out there sometime and see your shop. It looks great.
