Historic Annapolis Foundation Announces Slayton Show House and Lectures

A designer show house presented in a home built in 1774, The Slayton Show House
opens April 18 in Annapolis, Maryland. The 220 year-old home had not been
substantively changed since John Hancock presided at the Continental Congress.
17 of the Mid-Atlantic's top interior designers were challenged to marry the
preservation of a historic building with a 20th-century lifestyle. Their
creative solutions are amazing to view. In addition, the architectural and
archeological research and digs conducted over the past 2 years are open to
view, giving a peek into the past lives of the owners. The Slayton Show House
is at 112 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis.

In conjunction with the Slayton Show House, there will be a Lecture Series
presented on May 2. Featured speakers include world famous interior designer
Nina Campbell, decorator of the first British Royal Residence built this
century, as well as internationally renowned landscape designer Rosemary Verey,
landscape designer to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales and author of "English Country
Gardens." The lectures include additional speakers as well as a lovely May Day
lunch. There will be opportunities for book signings. Registration begins at 9
am on the grounds of St Johns College in Annapolis and the lectures and lunch
run from 10 am to 3pm.

All events are to benefit the educational and preservation programs of Historic
Annapolis Foundation and are presented in partnership with Traditional Home
