Historic Architecture Speaks to Us - What Does It Say to You?

I would like to hear from you about what
historic architecture says to you.

Some threads of interest to me:

1. The effect of increasing
suburbanization on the urban historic
districts in American cities.

2. The effect on property values of
Baby-Boomers turning 50, reaching
house-selling age, given the effects of
this large group reaching house-buying age
last at the beginning of last decade.

3. The effect, if any, on property values
of urban historic properties given the
perception of urban problems such as crime,
drugs, and high property tax.

4. As urban "gentrification" was a
Baby-Boomer trend among the enormously
large group of house buyers last decade,
will today's (relatively-speaking)
"Baby-Bust" have a large effect next decade
on desirability of urban historic
properties?

5. Given that social trends of the 1950s
(urban flight), 1960s and 70s (urban
demolition and renewal), 1980s (urban
gentrification) had an enormous impact on
historic architecture in the cities, what
can we expect to be the trend in this and
next decade?
