Nitro, still out there !?!

If there's anyone out there who reads this, I need some help. I am
currently trying to obtain information from a 501(c)(3), that is bylaws,
subcommitte listings, charter, membership requirements and priveledges
for a class. It has been my understanding that nonporofits information
of this type was public knowledge. Not according to the gentleman I've
dealt with.... my question is, is it public domain and he is just lazy,
doesn't want to deal with me and I should find another contact? Or am I
operating under a false impression?

Hey I'm still here. Not much discussion going on here. Maybe I'll stir the
pot and pose another question soon. I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV
but, any info regarding non profits should be public knowledge. I'm not
exactly sure what info you are looking for but there has got to be a channel to
find what info you need.

BTW, anyone have any good topics to discuss??????

All laws are public domain.

You should not mess with tax free rules if you are not trained. The IRS and
state governments have fairly complex rules governing nonprofits. Its like
trying to design and build your own car. Just not worth it. Find a tax
attorney in your state and pay them. They are worth it.

I don't think you understood what he was asking. I think he was looking for
some info from a non-profit org. Not trying to start one of his own. Any info
about a non-profit should be public knowledge. Is this true?
