I have come across the following product in a metal roof magazine. They
are called Grippers. Grippers are a slip resistant sandal that provide
much greater traction. You simply fit them over your work shoe or boot.

I have only tried them on 4 roofs so far. One was a 4:12 slope. Although
a 4:12 metal roof can be easily walked without the need of a "special"
sandal, there was a light mist of water on the panels. I was able to
perform my roof inspection with greater comfort and without loosing my
footing.

Recently 1 have tried them on a 7:12 roof. I was able to walk up the 7:12
roof without loosing my feet at all.

I believe all roofers, contractors, inspectors, building owners, and all
others who walk metal roofs may be interested in the above mentioned
product. If you would like additional information, go to my home page at
http://www.nauticom.net/www/roofing and click on the what's new link.

If any body has already used Grippers and/or are planning to, please let me
know how the turn and/or turned out. In a month or so I will be updating
my web page on my experiences with them. I would also like to include
other peoples experiences too.
