Hoverwork have purchased three API-88 hovercraft previously owned and
operated by Scandinavian Airline System (SAS).

The three Hovercraft Liv Viking, Idun Viking and Freja Viking are
currently configured with 81 passenger seats, two toilets and a
galley.

All three Hovercraft manufactured by GKN Westland Aerospace at their
East Cowes, Isle of Wight, works. Liv Viking and Freja Viking were
built to SAS order and delivered for service during 1985, while Idun
Viking, the first API-88/100 hovercraft to be constructed (1983-84),
was initially employed by Westland Aerospace as a demonstrator.

During 1986, '003' as Idun Viking was then known, was shipped to
British Columbia, Canada to provide a Hovercraft passenger service to
coincide with Expo '86 which was staged at Vancouver throughout that
summer. Hoverwork crews operated the Hovercraft, renamed 'Expo
Spirit', on the 70nm route between Vancouver and Victoria. The
hovercraft subsequently returned to Europe and was chartered to a
Norwegian organisation prior to joining the SAS Hovercraft fleet in
1988.

Scandinavian Airline System used all three Hovercraft as a feeder
service between Copenhagen and Malmo. One of the principle factors in
their introduction was the severe icing conditions experienced during
the winters of the mid 80's. The hovercraft service could maintain a
schedule when all other high speed marine craft could not operate.

SAS replaced the Hovercraft with much larger catamarans during 1993-94
to meet their requirement for greater seating capacities. Despite the
Hovercraft being redundant from 1994 SAS maintained them all to a high
standard retaining Det Norske Veritas certification through annual
inspections.

Recently shipped from Copenhagen the three Hovercraft now reside on
the Isle of Wight awaiting conversion, charter or sale.

All Hovercraft are available subject to availability and may be
configured in a variety of ways.
