Questions about evergrain decking material

WE are considering doing our deck using the evergrain composite from Epoch.
it is more popular than Trex now.
My only concern is that is is very hard, like concrete or ceramic tile etc
etc. HArd hard hard!!
It is not forgiving like wood if you drop something or fall down on it.

What do you think about this?

It can't be too hard; they only recommend a saw blade with two teeth per
inch:

$30 for a 2x6 x 12' over here. Cedar would be $19. You can't use it
structurally either.

I haven't used the stuff, so I can't give much of an opinion. But if
it's hard, that, in itself, isn't a disadvantage.

Use plastic cups and don't serve people who are obviously drunk.

It's a deck. Not a playpen. Even if kids are going to be playing on it, it's
probably better than splinters. The surface hardness is only part of the
equation. The joist spacing and the stiffness of the decking are major
contributors to "softness".
