With so many really good steel building manufacturers and fabricators in the States, why would we want to pay freight from the US or Japan to Australia (getting the rolled stock to Australia) and from Australia to the States?

Plus, the US companies are spending big bucks and efforts on promoting light steel building, including residential, in the States.  Shouldn't we acknowledge that promotion somewhat?

Just having a good product may not be enough for a switch.  What else do you offer?
