After several days of speculation, the final word has been delivered: Glenn
Quinn, who plays the half-demon Doyle on Angel, is leaving the show after
episode #9.

According to the Dark Horizons web site, Quinn's publicist issued the
following statement: "In a recently delivered final draft of the script of
episode 9, Glenn Quinn's character, Doyle, dies. The plot line has
apparently been planned since early in the development of the storylines for
the season and has been kept under wraps. We don't know what happens after
episode 9, but Glen has been aware of this development since the beginning
of the season and is looking at scripts for his next film. I hope that this
is clear, and I apologize for any confusion. Glenn has thoroughly enjoyed
the support that the fans have given him so far, and hopes that you continue
to enjoy the show." In addition, "set-side sources" told TV Guide Online
that Doyle will "be swallowed" up while defending Angel and Cordelia.

Well...at least that's been cleared up, sort of. Frankly, we're still a
little confused. Why introduce Doyle as a regular if the plan all along was
to kill him off? Is this part of a failed "surprise" twist that leaked out
prematurely? In any case, we'll miss the guy -- we'd just gotten used to his
kooky visions and wisecracking ways.

You blabbermouth!

No spoilers without proper warning and spoiler space here, and
certainly NO SPOILERS IN THE SUBJECT LINE!

Go hit yourself with something!

And make sure it hurts *j/k*

No seriously please refrain from posting spoilers. Peter said it all,
it's not a very nice thing to do because you're ruining things for
people who don't like to hear this stuff up front. I don't mind anyone
posting news of this type to the group (in fact I'd encourage it...it
beats seeking news out on the web), but next time you (or anyone else)
posts it keep the spoiler spaces in check. The spoiler rules here are
that every episode specific discussion deserves a spoiler space with
mentioning of the episode title/number/season so people will know if its
safe for them to read.

See Ya,
George
