Hi,

Just thought I'd mention this in case anyone's interested.

While other parts of the world, like Australia (R4), the UK and
some other European countries (R2) are getting this release a
little earlier, at the end of November already, there is still no
offical press release on the USA (region 1) DVD release of Buffy
the Vampire Slayer - Season One. However, Amazon.com looks to be
the first to list it for pre-ordering. Release date is given as
January 9, 2001 with a $59.98 list price discounted by 30% to
$41.99.

No details of extra features, but it's safe to say it will have
the at least the same ones and the foreign releases. There was
talk of it having more, perhaps the actual unaired pilot (not
just the script). I heard a wild rumor that they were trying to
include this on the R1 release, but that the actress who played
Willow in it was not cooperating. No idea if that's true, or even
if it can be, but anyway, I'm not holing my breath, I'm assuming
the extras will be the same, anything more is a bonus.

Bye,

Well, no sooner than I post this, it looks like it now *is*
official, according to DVD File this morning:

| Buffy finally comes to DVD
|
| Well, no sooner than we post details on the overseas release
| of Buffy The Vampire Slayer to DVD, than the announcement
| comes in for the Region 1 set. Due on 1/9, the set looks the
| same, with the entire first season of 12 episodes spread
| across three discs, along with commentaries and interviews
| with series creator Joss Wheldon and star David Boreanaz, a
| photo gallery, a music video and the pilot script via
| DVD-ROM. Retail is $59.95 for the set.
