What rules? All's fair in love and war, right? Its not like she has an
honor code to follow (no compulsions about backstabbing, as we well know
;-)

Umm...oh, you mean in 'The Wish'. Confused me for a minute. The Master
was indeed a worthy foe, but her encounter with him only made her all
the stronger.

Chip is S4, thus a spoiler. OK, its out of context, so it doesn't make
much sense to people not in the know...
That would be fun, but she's kicked his ass quite consistently
throughout the seasons, so I don't see him really winning easily.
However, Sunday did kick Buffy's ass in 'The Freshmen' which didn't last
the whole time, but it was kind of odd, to be honest. Mainly because she
usualy kicks vamp ass so easily.

dare you!! ;-)
Seriously though, it was a lot closer than that. The Angelus breaking
down wasn't the only thing that allowed her to win. My guess, she would
have managed anyway in the end (because, well, she's the Heroine ;-)

Nah...Too irrational, Faith is. Buffy better fighter in the end, when
she decides to do what's necessary.

Well it won't be coming from Joss. He's busy enough as it is with Angel and

I so *know*. Last year, with s4, I wasn't really into the whole "searching out
info" thing, so I didn't know too much about the upcomming season then. Now this
season is just too weird. I mean, its either gonna mark the return to greatness of
the show, or its gonna be its downfall. Of course I'm hoping for the first, but I
simply *have* to know. Too bad we can't discuss transcripts of the first few s5

Dawn. Another interesting thing. I mean, she's gonna be buffy's sister and all.
Completly out of the blue. Everyone remembering her and stuffs. Apareantly she's
got something to do with the seasons main baddy, which still *could* be good 'ol

Right. You know, that was actually incredibly weird, Much, much weirder
than the Buffy promo's. Angel, on a Horse, on an LA street, with a lance
and all that. verrry bizarre. I've heard less about the new Angel
season, though, and I think I'll leave it that way. I'm less spoiled for
the rest of S1 of Angel than I am for the rest of S4 of Buffy..

Yeah! That would be kinda nice, although I would say to do it this way:
Start with a cautious, relatively detail-free review (not too many
spoilers) and let us ask the specific questions that arise. Gotta try to
limit myself..a little.

Sure, that would be most welcome, I think, no objection at all. I
was actually thinking of asking you if you'd like to post some
*non* spoiler reviews at the start of the new season(s). You
know, describing what it's like and how good it is without giving
too much away (some of us like to at least pretend not to be
spoiler sluts). We're kind of hoping it's gonna be good, you
know, way better than `Doomed' sort of thing. So maybe you could
do both, some spoiler and some non-spoiler thoughts? Whatever you
like. Thanks in advance.

Yay! Anyway, 'The Prom just aired today, that's the spoiler line until
next week thursday, when it becomes Grad Day pt1...so, Sept 26 it'll be
'The Freshmen' I guess...

Basically, as I figure it, S4 is starting in the UK about the same time
S5 starts in the US. Hence, S5E1: spoiler line is S4E1 and so forth.

Yes, that's a little sad, isn't it?
Let's see... sob... SobMeister? Nah, that's still sad.
I notice you <g> a lot. That's a good habit. It's shows you have a positive
outlook on life. And a good sense of humor (as your postings prove). So I
think GrinMeister [tm]is rather fitting (or does this have a corny ring to
it?). Because you seem to <g> and <G> a lot, and because your postings make
us <g> and <G> too.
Your other distinguishing feature is that you are an American posting in an
European ng. We like your input. You are sort of like a correspondent to us.
You can fill in the culture and USA related details we're missing. And you
are way ahead of us in watching episodes. So in that way, USAMeister [tm]
would fit. But that would also place emphasis on your exceptional position.
You might not want that. You might want to be considered just one of the
boys.. err girls.. err.. one of us. And USAMeister, wouldn't that be your
president?
So it's your choice. Personally, I like GrinMeister [tm] best. Or you could
pass for the moment and wait untill something more suitable comes along.

Um. Why? I'd say it's something like reading the book before watching the
movie.

Hm. No. I did it before, and I must admit it's a different kind of watching
an ep when you've read the thing, but it's not always worse.

Ahem. No. I'm not to blame if I don't enjoy watching something. You could
blame me if I gave up on Buffy easily, but for now, I'll keep watching, I'll
keep taping, and I really don't understand what the big fuzz is all about.

Then who is? The writers? If the lack of enjoyment is beacuse
you've been spoiled, I think not, I think in that case you - or
whoever spoiled you - is to blame. Nothing beats seeing a movie
or episode or whatever (or reading a book) completely unspoiled.
That's the way it was meant to be seen. So I just meant *maybe*,
if you start reading transcripts beforehand, you *might* enjoy
the eps less as a result (e.g. because you know exactly what's
going to happen), so in that case your lack of enjoyment could
conceivably be your own stupid fault.
> > Okay, just wanted to get that off my chest. No offence.
>
> Well, feel free to get anything off your chest, but could you

Well, I thought simply because it's the ultimate form of
spoilage, and spoilage is bad. I know some people don't care
about being spoiled, but many do, hence our use of spoiler space
for this, that and the other. I thought *you* cared, which is why
I was "puzzled" myself about the way you seemed to see no problem
about reading transcripts beforehand, but now (esp. in your
"reading the book before watching the movie" comment above) I
think I'm hearing you see this thing slightly differently. You're
seeing the reading of the transcript not as spoiling yourself for
the ep, but simply as an alternative way of "seeing" the ep for
the first time and this does not necessarily mean that you don't
care about spoilers, e.g. you might well still be cross with me
for revealing important events like the fact that, say (and I'm
making this up), Giles will die in the first ep of season 5, and
say "Hey, Jonathan, you little !@%%*$**^@, I was going to read
that transcript when it came out, now you've spoiled it for me!".
Am I right? At all? :)

You're right. Reading a transcript you'll get the whole story, and events
are shown within the orignal context. In my experience, when you watch the
ep after reading the script, it's like watching it for the second time, and
imo, that's not a bad thing. The impact of something like Giles' death may
be not as enormous in a script compared to when you see it on tv, but the
meaning and background and everything won't be lost. Random spoilers like
who dies and who'll live however, really 'spoil' that first viewing. So yes,
in those cases I do the !@%%*$**^@ thing.

Good grief, no :) Hell, I was pretty much completely unspoiled
for both those eps, and didn't really enjoy either, well, they
were disappointing to say the least.

Good. I get it now. I'm glad we had this little chat. I may even
join you guys in reading the 501 transcript, but I still don't
think it's something I'd want to make a habit of. *Seeing* new
