Having learned this group had launched on deja or whatever, I asked my
server to carry it, even though the person who crated afdb did not go
through the correct procedures, they still obliged. So what I'm asking of
you guys now is please to e-mail your ISP and request that they carry it.

newsm...@isp.net

For example, if your internet service provider is aol you would use
newsm...@aol.com I would
imagine, or in...@aol.com just incase the other address does not work. If
you are signed up with freeserve, you would use newsm...@freeserve.co.uk
(or.com). Anyhoo, please just a request of you all, I don't read all of
these groups, so please beware that when you reply you are crossposting

I looked for the original newgroup message and I couldn't find it in the
normal place. That is quite strange, as every newsgroup's control
messages are stored there. It could be that the site was having a bad
day, so I'll keep looking for it.

clara added it locally, and I can see this here in afdb myself. Any tips on
what to do?

Yes, I have a tip.

You could

a) stop crossposting on all those international newsgroups that really don't
care about that crap you are writing

b) learn how to deal with control messages or newsservers in general -
obviously that's to high for kiddies.

let me see, david boreanaz....yeah you're right, he has nothing to do with
buffy the vampire slayer at all. i get your point......

well if you know all about it then maybe you can help us out! put your money
where your mouth is. the thinking behind the crossposting is that just maybe
buffy fans might be interested in a david boreanaz newsgroup.
hey it's a long shot but we thought we'd try it.
and since this group isn't widely available or known of, then the idea is to
try and inform as many people as possible and then we can do something to
make that happen.
i am serious about what i said - if you know what to do, then please help us
out.
thank you for your time

Got above average internet +network knowledge (quite), but:
8-<not that much knowledge 'bout news(servers / services)
8-<know dat your kind of replies are only given by semi-pro's that want to

First of all, no-one here flamed the first x-post.
This is a Buffy-NG.
You may find some fans of David here.
And maybe some of them would like to help
making alt.fan.david-boreanaz work fine.

But...

a) *never* crosspost without a follow-up to exactly
*one* newsgroup

b) the de in de.rec.tv.buffy indicates the german speaking
part of usenet. So, if you want to announce a new group
here or ask for some help, try to speak german. If you
can't, add a little "sorry, I don't speak german" and
you'll be welcome.
(btw: don't know what "sff" stands for, but...)

> wheez50
> (deeply ashamed he had to YELL)

Yes, sorry for that. And for my poor English.
We all like Buffy. And most of us like David.
So, let's stop flaming and enjoy the show...

Tschüss - uh, sorry: bye,
Kirsch.

I see that we are now cross-posting to afdb, but it's very strange. I
don't understand quite where the control newgroup message has got to.
Once again, I shall look into this - if the control message is not at
ISC, there is no way that it can be considered a proper group and so
there is not a lot of chance of ISPs carrying it.

BTW, if this thread is annoying some people, please ensure that you
killfile it.

One possible technical reason for being unable/unwilling to carry it
is their peers not doing so. If the ISP doesn't get any articles sent
to them for the group adding it is pointless - it could be created,
but would remain empty aside from local posts and crossposts.

[Followups to a.f.d-b, a.tv.a and umtb since this is far too widely
crossposted. I'm only keeping umtb since that's the only one I read.]

I'll email Demon and tell them that Clara has added it. If they can
manage it, Demon certainly can. I'm checking every day for the control
message, but it's just not appearing. Was there even a control message
created? It's not listed at any online news server, either, AFAIK. I've
tried Deja and loads more.

Yes, if techiniclly it does not exist, can we go through alt.config
do you know how to do this Luke? Coz I sure don't- thats all we can do
about it for now, try and create it whether it exists or not, when there is
more to report on notify the appropriate groups and if they wish to
subscribe thats fair enough, I know some people will be a bit upset about
the crossposting so...

I think that is going to be the best idea. I'm not the original
