Anyone else who can't stop wondering how Giles did not recognize and/or
appreciate the small part from Jesus Christ Superstar's ouverture, and why
he mentioned the Bay Creepy City Rollers, I mean, of all pop groups?

Yeah, I have a hard time believing that Giles would like that awful band.
When he was a kid, if he was true to the name 'Ripper', its more likely he
would have liked the Sex Pistols or Mott the Hoople. .
I'm curious. . .has he ever listened to any music in Buffy as an adult?

Well, he's British, isn't he? He'd probably be too ashamed to
admit he recognised something from Andrew Lloyd Webber. (I must
admit, I did.)

Never heard of them.

Yeah, but isn't he just a tad too old for the Sex Pistols? Hm. Not sure. I'd
say he's a few years older than I am, so I think he's pre-punk. Or maybe
not.

Not voluntarily, as far as I remember. :))

I wouldn't worry about that.

Im ashamed to know it. . but they wrote a song called "Chang-a-lang". . and
had 2 number one albums in '74 and '75.
They all used to wear tartan hats aswell(which is surely the worst fashion
disaster since Cordelia was subjected to her nightmares).

believe me, your better off if youve never heard or seen them.

YES! Now I finally remember that song I couldn't remember! I think it's
called 'Bye, Bye, baby' and it goes like this: 'Bye, bye, baby, baby, bye
bye.Bye, baby, baby, bye, bye...'

I think he was being "sarcastic". This is a British invention in which
one says something one does not, necessarily, mean for the purposes of
merriment and japery!

Hey, I know sarcastic. And I know ironic, which might be a more accurate
description. That is, if Giles *was* being ironic. I mean, he doesn't *look*
as if he's being ironic. Problem is, he looks dead serious. Which might be
the whole point if you're trying to be ironic. Or sarcastic.

Hm.

ASH apparently tried to change that line 'cause he doesn't like BCR,
but Joss wouldn't let him.

OR something.

There are a lot of 'or something's in my post. Sorry. :)

Aha.

Aha.

Or perhaps this is what happens when Americans try to portray a European

That's okay. And thanks for the explanation. Giles liking the BCR had me a
bit worried, but I'm okay now. :)))
