Did the writers of oth BtVS and Angel make a pact to write kick-ass
season openers? It sure looks like it!
I take it no one got fooled by the opening scene? Tempting, but when
Wesley appeared I knew for sure that this was all wishful thinking.
Still it was a nice scene.
Wesley rocks! Hiding Justine in the closet like that was tres cool.
Though I can't understand why he takes her aboard without so much as
cuffing her.
All her trying to convince him that Angel would turn on him was lost
on Wesley. Because I have the feeling that he wouldn't mind that much
if Angel killed him. I have the feeling that Wesley would've given
his life to save Angel, because he knows that Angel plays an
important part in the battle either for Good or for Bad. Of course
the fact that Wesley saved him might be enough to earn Angel's trust
back. But it doesn't seem that this will happen on very short notice
and that's okay.
Two more things I loved. The first was Fred trying to speak slang :)
And she showed that she knows how to use weapons (which she must have
learned from Gunn).
Second was Cordy. Just before he said it I just knew she would be
bored with all that higher plane stuff. I haven't been reading
articles or interviews much, but I have the feeling that her
ascension was just a precaution in case Charisma left the show. Or
the writers listened to the complaining fans and decided against
Cordy's upgrade. From the looks of the credits she's still a regular
on the show.
Okay, going to keep this nice and short because I haven't got all
day. Angel's back and I'm very glad about that!
