First of all, very strong episode (as is part 2, but never mind that for
now :-), written and directed by JW himself. Lots of nice juicy
flashbacks which give us insight into Angel's character. Great lines
here and ther (Spike: Its a big rock. I can't wait to tell my friends.
They don't have a rock this big; Kendra: Take it, its my lucky stake. I
call it Mr. Pointy. Buffy: you named your stake? Remind me to get you a
stuffed animal; More I can't pull up from memory for now...)

As for snippage, I noticed two pretty big ones (one was more noticable
than the other) Both occured during the fight scene in the library.
First of all, the scene where Xander gets his forearm snapped by the
vamp he is fighting is cut (you just see him with a limp arm, wincing
and telling cordy to get out) and the actual throat slashing by Dru was
snipped a little (in the same way the neck snapping in suprise was cut)
TO me, it seems like the fight scene was cut a little more than that,
but I can't put my finger on it. (Saw it on dutch TV about a month
ago...)

Another thing I am uncertain about is the voiceover at the end: In this
Cut, Whistler is doing the final voicover, but I'm pretty sure (I almost
distinctly remeber) Angel doing the final voiceover (all the voiceovers,
in fact) in the version I saw on dutch TV. Can any dutch viewers confirm
(I didn't have a VCR at the time so I didn't tape it :-( )

They also cut from the scene in the classroom, you know, the
immolation'ogram.

I seem to recall that as well! Can't be sure though. I may be confusing this
voiceover with the one in Passion

It's a while since I've seen this episode and I really enjoyed seeing it
again. A question - the scenes with Buffy, pre-Sunnydale, where she is
'introduced' to slaying vampires - are these based on scenes from the
original film BTVS?

PS I love that bit with her running in slo-mo at the end - I'd really
like a blue jacket like that!!

Hi,

These two episodes are what I consider to be Buffy at its' best. No other
episodes, Graduation Day included, have ever come close.

As you're mentioning things that were cut, they're still classed as spoilers
for all BBC viewers until Saturday. An additional scene that was cut in the
school when the vampire warns Buffy - she burns up and all the kids, with
the exception of Buffy, back away from the vamp as this happens.

The Sky version, and the WB version I downloaded (and for that matter,
AleXander's transcript) all have Whistler's voice-over at the end. The Sky
version did not contain Angel's voice-over at the start though, I don't
think.

Very loosely. There is no outdoor "you are the chose one" in the movie,
but there is a graveyard scene. No missing the heart stuff either..

I would cast cotes for the Surprise/Innocence double, and Doppelgangland
is another really great ep. For funny, I would vote earshot....

You can't be serious here: Its obvious that Kendra's throat is slashed,
and if you look carfully, you see Xanders useless arm dangling by his
side...That there is a little more to it (not saying altogether that
much about it) can't be all too serious. Besides, the header says Cuts
in it, and there is spoiler space ;-)

Was confusing it with Passion, I think (someone else pointed that
out...)

Wasn't the Whistler character supposed to have been in Angel instead of
Doyle?
I wonder how it would have turned out with his character. . .
I loved the whole ep though. . .apart from the last five minutes which didnt
record on my video for some reason. . .the best bit has to be when they find
the disk that was lost in Passion. . .sends a shiver down my spine. . .
I agree about these cuts though, they are getting more ridiculous each week.
. .the immolation-o-gram should have spiralled into flames, and Kendras
neck. . .if they cut that, why didnt they cut Angel being sired? Maybe its
just so they have more show on the repeat?

Do not normally watch the repeats on BBC, although haven't seen this

Is the late night BBC repeat cut this badly as well.

They aren't cut at all. That's the point of them being on.

Except for one episode, which had a non-PC line cut.

It was Darla, the Master's right-hand vampire from season 1, who, as has

The episode shown at 6.45pm on Thursday on BBC2 is shown at 6.45pm,
Friday, BB2-Scotland.
We were a week behind for a while, but it's now caught up.

Of course, it'll probably change soon, but you'll all hear me bitch
