I completely agree with the funny, sassy ,sexy part. I still hope
she'll return in s5. It is not likely however. She stated she didn't
like doing buffy much more, cause she wanted to do more in Film. So,
it depends if Joss could get her to sign on (lets hope...)

Don't worry about it. Several people have seen "5x5" and "Sanctuary" with me, and we all agree that Faith will never spend a single day in prison -- she won't even go to trial.

Even if she confesses to everything she did in Sunnydale, remember that the Mayor was manipulating everything there, and he probably had the Sunnydale Police Department cover up her crimes and destroy evidence; the DA very likely wouldn't find enough evidence to take to court. Also, if she confesses the *whole* thing, including all the stuff about vampires and demons and being
a Slayer, they'll probably think she's crazy and discount a lot of her confession.

And, regardless of what they do or don't believe, and regardless of what they do or don't find evidence of, Faith could still easily be found incompetent to stand trial. Based on a psychiatric evaluation, all that might happen is that she'll spend six months in a psych ward, be deemed cured, and then released in to the world with a bottle of mood-altering pills.

Anyway, it's unlikely that she'd go to prison, or even go to trial.

> ...and she can find peace and become good?

Well, that's her story now, isn't it? She had her epiphany in "Who Are You?" about how awful her life really is and now she wants to change. She's the emotionally damaged Chosen One who has to find a way to be a better person and a real hero.

> I'd be chuffed to see her back too! She's funny, sassy, and sexy! And now she can be all tortured like Buffy herself!

Well...Buffy is occasionally conflicted, but I wouldn't say that she's *tortured* in the way that Faith is. "Restless" promises some interesting things for Buffy in Season 5 and I have no way of knowing what they're going to do, but I've seen Buffy's overall story as being tragic -- more tragic than Buffy, herself, realizes. Even with everything she has to do as the Slayer,
she imagines that she's can have a life outside of that, and I don't think she can. She may not sleep on a bed of bones, but is she going to be able to have any kind of career after college? I wonder if it's worth her while to bother going to college, at all.

So, Buffy isn't tortured, yet, because it hasn't sunk in that she's the Slayer and that's all she's going to have.

Oh, wait a minute, we were talking about Faith, weren't we? Sorry.

So, my point was that Faith won't go to prison.

If she gives a reasonably accurate description of what happened it will
include that Buffy was there. A confession, plus an eyewitness *will*
get them a conviction. Faith confessing at all to Finch's death gets
Buffy into hot water with the authorities, since she provided Faith
with an alibi the first time Detective Stein questioned her about it.
Since Faith wants to confess anyway her lawyer will likely cut a deal.
Faith gets a 2 year sentence for involuntary manslaughter, and is out
on parole in 6 months to a year. (Just in time for May sweeps.)

I suspect that any reference she may make to "vampires" will be
converted into the old Sunnydale standby "gang on PCP." If the "V"
word does come out of her mouth, it will be explained as the name of
the gang.

The producers are willing - although it has been suggested that
any reappearance will be in Angel rather than in Buffy.

All that remains is to see whether Eliza Dushku is willing - she
has said in the past that she doesn't want to get involved in any
protracted series-type things. ISTR some talk about her going to
college, also...

I suppose it all depends on what she confesses to, but I think all the stuff
she did in LA will be far harder to discount than the Sunnydale stuff.
After all, the LAPD were actively looking for faith for attempted murder,
assault etc.

Ironic that most of the actors who say they don't want to get into
series roles, tend to totally bomb in a movie career! :)

Mind you, if she got her kit off... ! :)

<SNIP> all the spoilers.

PLEASE STOP CROSSPOSTING TO ALT.BUFFY.EUROPE

its rude, its not correctly spoilerspaced and contains several spoilers
that must be indicated as per group rules. I believe the same goes for
UMTB, as events in late S3 and S1 of Angel are discussed.

thank you for listening, and PLEASE take the advice,
