And another very entertaining episode. Not as thrilling as the last one,
but this one had me LOL a whole lot more. And who would have thought, a
Wesley centered episode. One episode, and he's getting some. Not even a
bleeched blonde this time. Anyone here still think Wesley is a loser?

Well, you wouldn't be completely wrong if you did. Wesley's clumsyness
was a bit too exaggerated for it to be really funny. And he was still
acting like a wuss at times. He got an open invitation to visit Virginia
though. And he did show some sharp moves (against the fake guards I
mean). It seems that all he lacks is faith in himself. I hope he gained
a lot of that this episode. And if not, at least he got a cute redhead
out of it.

Wesley wasn't who he appeared to be, and so wasn't the guy that killed
T'ish Magev. And on that note, Virginia wasn't what she appeared to be
(a virginian err virgin... nice choice of name dad) and daddy dearest
wasn't what he appeared to be (dearest). But they all kept up their
guise pretty well.
Especially the Fake Magev (Virginia never fooled me for a moment :).
That guy was pretty convincing. His councelling wasn't half bad either
and actually seemed to make sense at times. But isn't that the whole
problem with analyses like that: they always seem to make some kind of
sense if you want them to. At one point I thought the guy worked for W&H
and would advise Angel to stop fighting his inner demon. And his advise
about how to deal with Angel's Darla obsession: I think he already tried
that one on Buffy. Didn't work then, certainly won't work now. Although
from a W&H viewpoint it would be the best solution.

I really loved the Host. That guy keeps getting better and better. I
like his play of words. His advise is a little off lately, or rather
doesn't really help. But he really can't be blamed when Angel won't
listen at first and when he does, the advise gets killed and replaced.

I really loved Cordelia. She keeps getting better and better. I like her
humor and playfulness. She did a brilliant imitation of Angel. She even
had Wesley smile! Still when the going gets tough, Cordelia gets going.
She's doesn't even shy away from reading celeb mags for her research
(and waddaya know: bingo!).

Not a whole lot of progress on the Darla and W&H front. I doubt that the
Fake Magev has some lasting positive inluence on Angel. He seemed to be
a little more relaxed at the end. But I'm afraid that it takes just one
visit from his Sire to undo that. We'll see about that in the next
episode hopefully.

Well - not a loser - but totally fitting in the cool way of life: no.
Surprisingly though how though he seemed at the first episode of this
season, the dart-thing.
He shows a curious simililarity with Xander - who's not also a total loser,
but also not cool in a hero-way.

Perhaps it's not faith in himself that he misses, I mean - he is The
Associate - but he isn't used doing the important Angel work and now that he
tries, he's a bad imitation of Angel, - what a whole high level is to
imitate - but a hero Wesley.

Perhaps - but I thought that W&H wasn't involved in this situation. The
swami guy was killed by the opponents of Virginia's father.

Yup - the Cordelia humor was better than the slapstick-Wesley-humor.

I thought the contrast was a tad too big in this episode. The way Wesley
slips over those papers on the floor: it's just too much.
Wesley's writing doesn't seem to be very consistent, making him clumsy
when the writers seem fit. Although the dart thing showed that Wesley
can be cool when he's not aware of it. As soon as he notices the blonde
admiring him, he nearly kills someone with his last dart (more or less
;) So his clumsyness can be chalked up to his lack of self confidence I
think. When the circumstances demand it, and he stops being self-aware,
Wesley is capable of some pretty cool stuff. I feel that this is kind of
the point the writers are trying to make for him.

I just noticed by the way that it's easy to slip up and type Weasly
instead of Wesley... mmmm....

Well I never *really* thought he worked for W&H (later is was made clear
that he was hired by Lanier). But the way he kept going on about Angel
to stop fighting his demon. he might as well have been working for the
lawfirm.
