There were two of them. Which witch is the real vampire? Also, there were
obviously mucho vampires in the house that night. It is quite possible that
it was reported and covered up, as everything is in that town. Also, the
kids know more than they let on (Prom).

Behind bars for sucking the neck of some girl?? After he worked so hard to
cover it all up?? I don't think so.

Actually, he thought there was only one Willow until the very end, I
believe. He NEVER saw the two of them together until the end, I don't
believe.

She knocked her dopple out totally. Probably had time to run and catch the
others. Or she yelled, or they heard the fight. Who knows.

Lots of people heard Anya saying that she wasn't really their Willow,
and they had a whole bunch of witnesses who saw both Willow and
alt.willow together, many of whom were not among Willow's close
friends. More than enough to convince any investigator that they were
looking for another girl who just happened to look like Willow.

I think that Oz spotted that it was his Willow who walked in pretty
much the instant she did so. He knew she was just pretending to be a
vampire right from the start.

They walked. After shooting alt.willow Willow ran after them and
shouted at them to come back.

But he heard Anya telling alt.willow that she wasn't the Willow who
belonged in that universe. There was another her.

The cops of Sunnydale know about the Vamps, at least the higher ups do.
I think that they just kinda ignore bodies that show signs of Vampire
attack, maybe they chalk Vamp fatalities up as an 'act of God' sort of
thing. They aren't going around throwing all the other Vamps in jail.
Why start with Willow?

I got the impression that Will ran and got the rest of the gang to come
back. She would have had the time. The fight didn't take that long,
the gang was probably still on campus and would have come a runnin if
she yelled.
Doppelgangland is one of my favorite eps too. Good to see Alyson H. get
the chance to stretch her acting talents.

I have just finished watching Doppelgängland again and it struck me. Why
isn't Willow arrested for murder ????? Evil Willow killed that girl in
front of a lot of people. Many of whom probably have seen Willow before or
even know her name. We are led to believe in the series that the vast
majority of the population of Sunnydale don't know about vampires, so to
them Willow is Willow.
A murder like that obviously has to be investigated. So why isn't Willow
put behind bars. The mayor will be especially happy to see her separated
from her computer so effectively. It would almost be as good as killing
her.
By the way, I haven't seen anything after DGL so if Willow is arrested in a
later ep, please don't give away to much.
Another remark. Why did Oz not react when he heard that his Willow had
been killed by the evil Willow. He stood very calmly by the podium when
Willow signaled that she was nice Willow. I know he is cool by nature but
some reaction when you hear that your girlfriend has been killed would be
normal. This is probably not bad acting by Seth Green but just a flaw in
the script.
One final thing that bothered me (a little). Why did everybody return to
the library just in time to help Willow lock up Willow ? She had told them
to go on and that she would follow them.
In the end these (minor) things can't change the fact that Doppelgängland
Well, it's not as much that they don't know about vampires, as that
they ignore the existance of vampires. EvilVampWillow was obviously a
vampire, so they repressed it. Plus, as people've pointed out, there
was a clear [for limited values of clear, given the Sunnydale
repression factor] "this is not our Willow" thing going on by the end.

Well, no.
He *did* react when he thought his Willow had been killed-- when EVW
first came into the Bronze. Sure, it wasn't weeping-wailing-gnashing-
of-teeth type reacting, but it wasn't "Oh, okay, another day on the
Hellmouth" shrugging it off.
When Willow-pretending-to-be-EVW came in, he probably saw it right
away. He didn't react because (a) that isn't really in his nature,
and (b) it would have blown what was obviously an attempt at
undercover work for Willow.

Either because they noticed Willow had been gone for a while, or
because once she'd knocked EVW out she called for them to come back
and help. They didn't come back Just In Time to knock her out, which
was the time-critical thing.

Well, those witnesses also saw two Willow's fighting, so how could
they make a positive ID? "Well, you see officer, there's this good
Willow and this bad Willow..."

I'd guess he spotted her right off. That "Hi, I'm back." wasn't very
evol vampirish.

They probably noticed Willow hadn't followed them, or she caught up
with them after subduing alt.Willow.

No, Willow signalled him right after she told the vampires she had
killed good-Willow. So Seth knew almost immidiatelly she was
good-Willow.
