Just so's you know!

I'm no Willow either (and that's probably a good thing for obvious
reasons) but maybe I can help you on your way.
I see that you use Outlook Express. The way I see it, you can go about
it in two ways. The first way is to go to Extra -> Accounts and then
select the tab News. Then click on the Add button and select News again.
It'll first ask you to fill in a nickname. Here you can fill in the name
by which you want to post in the newsgroups. Click Next and you'll be
asked to fill in an e-mail adress. I think you can fill in your personal
adress here, but that's not necessary for posting. Click Next again, and
you'll be asked to fill in the news server adress. I'm sure your husband
knows this one if you don't. Click Next and Finish to complete the new
news account. Now you've created your own news account. It uses the same
newsserver as your current account. This might mean that the messages
you download with your new account won't be downloadable with the
current account, but I'm not sure. It's not a problem at all when you
subscribe to other groups than your husdband does. You'll see the new
account appear in the Folder section at the left-hand of the screen. You
can even rename it if you want to. And you have to download the
newsgroups again for this new account.
Second option is to create a new Identity. You can do this by going to
File -> Identities -> Add/Create New Identity. By this you create a
completely new user for Outlook Express. I think you'll have to make a
new e-mail and news account for that Identity, so it looks like more
work than the first option. When you've created multiple Identities, you
can switch between them. Outlook Express will restart every time you do
that.
I hope this helps a bit. If you have any more questions then ask, and
I'll try to answer them. I don't use OE myself anymore, but I still have
it on my computer so I can check things for you. And trust me, I work at
an ISP helpdesk ;o) That's one of the reasons I wrote this post in the
first place I guess.
Bye, Patrick
