Won't go into the ep right now, but I was wondering if anyone else heard
those veeeery weird noises in the background when it was quiet... sounded
like fairy whispers or something. Veeery eeeeery... (I watched the Grace
encode btw).

Loved the episode, didn't y'all? 'specially the beginning with Cordy and
Wesley... oh ok, better stop right here :)

No, but I had the distinct feeling that sound and picture were out of
sync again. And I experienced two freeze frame moments where they
weren't intended by the writers. Of course I had to replace two missing
.rar. files with .par files, which could have everything to nothing to
do with it.

And as for the ep....

A bit of an out of the ordinary ep this time. I really hated the bugs,
let's get that off my chest. Why do all those demons have to be
grotesque nowadays? Then again, they weren't exactly demons were they?
Just giant bugs. Probably mutated from using too much insecticide.

I really couldn't believe that Fred was going. Not that I would've mind
really. Up till now she mainly was a source of annoyance to me, with all
her babbling (it was one great babblefest). But hey, she is in the
credits so she can't possibly leave (or could she, let's ask Doyle).
Something didn't seem right. She is tracked down by her parents, who
turn out to be okay people (finally, some normal parents... well,
normal... at least they were of the caring kind). They all get attacked
by a giant bug, which is run over by mama Fred (nice detail) and that's
the end of the story. Now my VCD player didn't show the time left, but I
had the feeling this couldn't be it. And boy was I right.

Still, it seems like a relatively non-spectacular ep. Fred ends up
choosing to stay with the fang gang. She has found her place in the
team. She is the brains.. oh no, that was Wesley. She is the muscle...
oh no, that was Gunn. She is the looker.. oh no, that was Cordy. Well
she's a bit of all that really. And she makes some nifty machines which
can be used to slice heads (when conveniently placed in the exact right
direction) and to make waflkes (was it?) at the exact same time.

Okay, so this ep was mainly intended to force Fred to make a choice. Of
course she choses to stay with her fat.. err great hero c.s. Side note:
when Angel suddenly acts like an insecure twat, those are the times when
I'm not laughing although the writers meant me to. It was all reasonably
contrived but you know what: I don't care. This isn't a brilliant
episode, but at least it sends Fred on her (long overdue) way. Now I
think I can really start to stand her.

I hated to see Lorne like that, with his bar still trashed (but at least
the lights are still working). And is it me or is the advice he gives
people nowadays a little more gloomy. He was right though: whenever
people come to him they only want to talk about themselves.

One last note: we will never know how the conversation between Buffy and
Angel went (GREAT impression by Cordy and Wes btw). Or will we? Seems
like too great an opportunity to pass over. All I want to know is
whether Buffy told Angel she was an angel herself until her friends
pulled her out of heaven.

Bye, Patrick

Synch? Nah, but it wasn't that great cap, for some reason..and the audio
is, well, not up to par, really.

Ditto.

Righto. I kinda liked the bugs in terms of nifty CGI. But hey, a little
bit forced, on the whole.

Hehe...you're having a tough time this season, ain't ya? First 'Buffy'
(which I will duly comment on later, like, tomorrow night, have exam,
this is a time out moment..I *knew* you were gonna hate it, though..)
and then there's this 'Fred' thing..

Right. They were making us thing there was something wrong with them,
what with the strangeness going on. And with Lorne's cryptic
uber-cynical advice stuff.

Right. Nice, but rather predictable. I thought, anyway. Well, I knew who
was driving as soon as the bus hit, lemme put it that way..

Indeed. If it had been, it would've been the flattest floppiest ep of
either season (B or A) to date.

No, that's Fred. She's more braingy than Wes. Wes is a Book Guy[tm].

To which I'll just reply 'hmmm....Fred!'

Make toast. She's like an inventor, dood.

Like, woo. Surprise. Only, not. Funnily enough, this highlighted the
major 'every character on this show and on Buffy comes from a screwed up
home environment' angle. 'Family' did that for Buffy, more or less,
'Fredless' did it for this one. Plus, some more Wesley Family Exposition
(again not particularly surprising..)

Right..Goofy!Angel was around again. Second ep in a row (although last
week it wasn't him, not really..) It was, well, silly.

Funny how you don't care, but hate LS with a vengance...it's the three
nerd thing, I guess...this said, I don't care much either. Lacked oompf,
but it worked out OK. Mere's first effort was better, but then again,
that one did get directed by Joss (Untouched, FWIW..)

Yep. Oh, and apparently, no, Lorne doesn't *really* smoke. He's just in
a bad place. Said Mere.

> One last note: we will never know how the conversation between Buffy and

LOVED that scene..they cut out the 'I'll lose my soul' bits for time
(again, Bronze info..)

> Or will we? Seems

Righto. This, IMO, is an annoyance in both 'Life Serial' and 'Fredless'.
The 'I don't wanna talk about it' line. ARGH! Dammit! Want. Angst. Now.

Ah well, I guess we'll live...on a strange side note, Steve DeKnight
said (on the Bronze) that Joss isn't ruling out crossovers (decide,
dammit!) but that none are planned right now..

Other final comment, the one line that had me cracking up in a HUGE way:
the "Loved the Aliens movies [...] except for the fourth one, I think he
fell asleep half way through that one.."

Priceless inside joke there, what with Joss being he who wrote said
movie, as well as he who hates it most in the whole wide world..

Don't have much else to say, really...
