In this light, the Scoobies inability to dust Spike because he's so
helpless seems even more ridiculous. Hell, they shouldn't just kill him
but repay him with some glowing hot iron first.
Now there's a slight possibility that they don't know about what
happened back in LA. Then I wonder if it would make any difference if
they did. Probably not.
Just a ramble. I'm done now. You can move on.

I object to the usage of the word 'friend'
;-P

Vaguely. Tall, dark, brooding?

Yep. I'm not sure Angel was big on the exact details of what went on.
And anyway, no permanent damage done there (wow. that was harsh.)

They're not big into torture. The whole 'we can't kill Spike' is pretty
much idiotic to the extreme, but I guess we'll just have to suspend
disbelief. He did help them (very sort of) in the past. He did the very
handy psychanalasis (which reminds me, someone, I think you, made a
comment about Spike no noticing about FiB, blaming it on drukenness. See
'Lovers Walk' for proof that that's not a particularly convincing
argument.) for them from time to time, whacked some demons with them,
uh, took Dru away and let Buffy kill Angel (oh, wait....) No, there's no
really good reason for it. Other than 'he is funny'.

They probably knew some. Remeber that a) Angel doesn't talk much, b) Oz
doesn't talk much, and c) 'twas a bit of a confusing time after that.
Weird frat partys and haunted houses, followed by caveman beer, and then
sadness and werewolf ladies.

Ramble on!

This is a very different kind of ramble than usual. It actually
has...what's the word...ah! Content!
