It's day 4 and I scored 4. And nearly ran out of time too. Not that I
had known the answer to the last question even if I had an hour left.
Can you tell that this wasn't my favorite subject? Hats off to anyone
scoring 9 or higher on this one.

Bye, Patrick

Is day four up yet? I just looked and the last one is still the Xander and
Anya quiz. Did that one yesterday.

Yup, it was up at around 9am. Sometimes your browser can cache the file
which stores the maximum day available and not refresh it properly -- try
restarting your browser. If you still can't see the latest quiz, go to
http://www.buffyquiz.com/Day2001.txt and hit refresh (should say '4')

And yes, it's a tricky one today -- it was a surprisingly tough subject to
find questions on. But since there were so many good marks for the first
Angel quiz, I won't feel too guilty...

I guessed my way through, except for one question and still managed 4/10
:-)

I'll say....5/10. Two I had an epiphany on after clicking the wrong
answer, but the other three....pfff...

You're rather evil, you know that?

If you never changed anything in your internet options before, there
should be no need to change anything now. Maybe you're version of IE is
too old or damaged?

Let's start from the beginning. You fire up IE 5.5 and type in
www.buffyquiz.com in the URL bar. What happens next and what do you see?

thanks p@rick, tried to answer you in private but my msg was returned to me,
so sorry to bother the newsgroup with personal problems.

so, i see the page with an introductory text and links like "the quiz", and
"faq" among others, at the top, and photos on both sides
the problem is if i click on "the quiz", i get an html page with the photos
on the side but a blank emplacement of a picture in the middle (with the
small sign like when a picture is not loaded in the top left hand corner)
and nothing doing after that, even with refresh and so on and so forth
i just reset my options to "default" but nothing happened

It's not busy, so...

Hmm...That's where it should load the applet (says 'images loading,
please wait' and all that..)

Have you got your security setting set to 'medium'? Is Java turned on
(under Internet Options -> Advanced, Microsoft VM.) I have 'JIT Complier
for Virtual machine enabled' checked, nothing more. But hey, I barely
use IE, so I don't know if that's the recommended setting..Quiz does
work, though.

I guess it doesn't hurt to try. Also, try to change some settings in
Internet Options -> Security -> Custom Settings (lower security settings
etc). And just maybe it helps if you delete your temporary internet
files (Internet Options -> General).

I've found this article on the M$ support site which might help:

The Java Console is just so that you can read the error messages from
the Java Virtual Machine, it doesn't do anything. You could try updating
Exploder to 6.0 or doing a reinstall on 5.5 Service Release 2 (earlier
versions have some not-so-nice vulnerabilities). You can check at
www.javasoft.com to see if the applets there work. You could also do an
"Update Windows" and see what it recommends as needing to be installed.

Good luck.

I had/have the same problem. Have you tried clicking on "Quiz" and then
waiting for about ten minutes? That worked for me. The loading just takes
terribly long with me.
