It's a slightly unique situation, with the spinoff factor going. There
have been other shows with crossoevers, though. No clue about Star Trek
(don't think there have been any in the way that Buffy and Angel have
them..), but I know that Profiler and The Pretender have had 2 crossover
eps, one with the 'old' profiler (ie, Sam Watters, when the show was
still good ;o) and one with the new one, which got all romantic in the
end. both fun though.
Millenium and X-Files have also done it in the past, but again, don't
know about the reciprocal crossoverness of the eps.

Haven't had that kind of subtle hintage, to my knowledge, since 'The
Freshman' (first ep of Season 4, obviously, since in Graduation Day, end
of Season 3, everyone's in Sunnydale. Well, for 99% of the ep, anyway
;o) It's definately Angel on the line. It's less obvious than the big
ones, like Harsh Light of Day/In the Dark, Pangs/I Will Remember You and
the brilliant '4 parter', This Year's Girl/Who Are You/Five by
Five/Sanctuary.

There was one X Files episode where Frank Black turned up, but that
was after Millennium had been cancelled. There was never a continuing
storyline between the two shows like with most of the Angel/Buffy
crossovers. I've seen several other crossovers (Chicago Hope/Early
Edition, ST:TNG/DS9) but none of them had any such overlap, storywise.

I vaguely recall both scenes now, but I too had never linked them,
because there's been a gap of several weeks or months between my
watching each of the episodes. Thanks for pointing it out, Mrs. Geoff.

I remember doing a little mini-5x5 ( http://come.to/5x5 ) from Harsh
Light of Day/In the Dark on when I heard FOX were going to repeat
Angel. Unfortunately they didn't make it to I Will Remember You, which
I've never seen to this day.

Friends (my favourite comedy sit-com) has had several guest appearances from
other shows.
Some examples:
The shows Friends and Mad About You have a character that is the same in both
shows; Ursula, the very strange waitress.
At one time on Mad About You the main characters were responsible for a
blackout in New York.
The Friends episode featured that blackout (giving rise to Phoebe's best song
ever).
Other appearances in Friends:
The characters from Mad About You
Ross and Carter from E.R.
Caroline in the City
I have a vague recollection of some characters from Mad About You and/or
Friends being in a Seinfield episode as well but I rarely watch Seinfeld so
am not sure about that one.
But the fact is that the interaction of Buffy/Angel seems to be fairly uniqe.

go!"
