"All hat and no cattle" is a well known ( in Texas) expression. Its a
funny way of calling someone a
poser.

How did the English Spike come to use a Texan expression? He
just came from Europe.

Hey you pick things up from friends etc. Maybe he had hung with the good
ol' gorch brothers a bit too much <g>. And when you live that long
you're bound to pick things up, soooo...
