Hi. I watched the season five finale last night and I'm not going to
tell you too much about it other than the fact that it was one of the
best episodes ever. Hell, all of season five has been incredible and you
guys watching BBC have a lot to look forward to (including one episode
that was so good I'll shit a brick if it doesn't win some kind of
writing/directing award).
One of the big mis-understandings here in the U.S. was about the WB
network's use of laguage when reffering to the season five finale. Buffy
was purchased by the UPN network so this was the last season for the
show on WB. But WB didn't want to tell anyone this because that would be
advertising another network so they've been announcing that this was the
"series finale" instead of the season finale. Because of this, there are
people out there who love the show and think that it's over.
I put the SPOILER notes up so I don't mind telling you that the show has
been bought by UPN and contracted for two more seasons. Sarah Michelle
Gellar is still in contract. I don't know how many more years she has
(one or two) but she will certainly be around for season six.
If there is anyone who wants to know the full details of the season five
finale just e-mail me personally. I doubt I'll get any takers, it would
ruin the surprise for you. Plus, I would have to explain everything
that's happened in season five just so you would understand the finale.
On second thought, don't ask. I don't have that much time. :-)
