Hi, my name is Steve, and yes I am a newbie. BUT PLEASE DON'T LET THIS STOP
YOU. I really need to ask a question about the episode just aired on SKY
ONE.

BECOMING part 1 & 2

If you missed this episode, skip this thread.......thanks a mil.
This is basically for UK fans, but US fans, you can answer too. I need to
know.

Ok, so lemmie get this straight.
Buffy's mum now properly knows about "The Slayer". Buffy was given an
ultimatum namely: "Step out of this house, don't think of coming back." Then
Buffy leaves. The bloke in the wheel chair helps Buffy to get back Giles, in
return for his girl. Giles is back, and the wheelchair and his girl have
left the country. Willow tries again to give Angel back his soul, and
succeeds. However, it's too late and Buffy has to kill Angel to save the
world.

Now everybody is ok. Willow is in a wheelchair, and the rest are ok. Not
back to normal, but ok.
Buffy however decides to leave home, after being expelled earlier on in the
episode. No-one knows that Buffy has left, except Buffy's mum.

What's happening next ? Was that the last EVER ? I heard the voice over
woman say NEW series 3 next week. Now I am sure that that series wasn't
series 2. I'll have to check. But this can't happen ! I, I,
I..........overload. Can't comprehend.

Please reply, or e-mail. I still can't believe this has happened !

Regards...

Steve

That was 'Becoming, parts 1 & 2' and yes, it was the end of season 2. Season
1 was 12 episodes long, season 2 was 22 episodes and between Sky (who showed
all the way up to six episodes before the end of S2 last year) and the BBC
(who chopped S2 off, five episodes in) it's no wonder you or anyone else is
confused. However, as That Mad Cow (TM) said over the closing credits,
season 3 starts next week so don't despair. Season 4, BTW, is currently
filming in the US and will start broadcasting over there at the beginning of
October so we've a ways to go yet.

...well, it depends on how you define 'ok'. *grin* Considering that
Angel's in Hell, Willow's recovering from head trauma (and spell
trauma[1]), Giles has been tortured (and has no debriefing or counseling
of any sort, at least that we see), and Buffy's having major Issues, I
wouldn't call it ok. <G> But, yes.

It isn't the last ever; there's been another season over here in the US.
Sky, as far as I know [though I could easily be wrong] is starting next
week.[2] But that was the season two (series two? whatever) finale, yes.
And it did happen. Isn't it fun?[3] *grin*

Well, I wouldn't say everyone was OK. Everyone's pretty traumatized.

We've just had Season 3 completed over here. Season 4 starts in
October. You've just finished Season 2 (Season 1 was 12 episodes, 2
and 3 22 episodes each).

Wait til you see the 3rd season. You think Buffy went through the
ringer in Season 2...(evil laugh)... I won't give anything away, but,
well...Let's just say our heroine doesn't exactly have a lot of luck
with birthdays...

I thought he acted well in Becoming. His Irish accent was fairly
decent, his expressions were good, his character was noticably
different cursed/not cursed...

"Little Slayer Annie"

With Buffy in the title role, and Giles as Daddy Watchbucks . . .

Okay, now that I've started any number of nightmares for some of you, anyone

Most people in UMTB haven't even seen the second half of season 2, so

I think he does a much better job as Angelus than as Angel, but that's
mainly due to the characters, rather than the acting. As Angel, there
isn't a lot for him to do apart from look brooding and mysterious,
whereas as Angelus there's a lot more to the character, and this comes
through in DB's portrayal. He's not the best actor in the world, but he
does a good job with what he's written I think.
