Ok, so I did watch. Even if I hadn't been spoiled for the Buffy eps I
still would've been able to enjoy this Angel ep. The information that
was needed to understand the events in the ep were suplied. Anyways the
ep itself was tremendously *good*. It was the best stuff I've seen in
either Buffy *or* Angel this season. It simply rocked. It was way up
there with all the s2 and s3 greats. Definatly an ep thats going into my
top10 list. Of course I don't want to overhype it, because that mostly
leads to disapointment and as such to less enjoyment. So keep your
expectations low (if that's possible after what I wrote so far) and then
be stunned by the fact that Joss and co. still have the touch ;-) Simply
great and its really hard to fight the urge to post my review this very
moment. Only thing thats keeping me is the fact that no ones going to
actually *read* my review if I post it now. Not going to mind rewatching
this ep in five weeks though....
Oh and next weeks sanctuary, the second part of this two parter looks
very good as well. I'm just hoping they can keep this high quality
up....
See Ya,

Look, people, I really don't wan't anyone to feel they can't
discuss these eps beacuse of the 5x5 project. I'm sure there are
plenty who have watched it tonight. You, Peter and Andrea to
start with. Please feel free to engage in heated debate just like
old times. I may even look those threads up in five weeks time.

Before you buy.
And better yet, I've been hardly spoiled for the Buffy eps that are still
to come. Apart from that obvious thing, of course, but everybody who
watched last weeks promo was spoiled for that. I've got the distinct
impression that Joss meant it to be that way and I hope they will keep
this up in the eps yet to come.

Well, I wouldn't go *that* far. It has some great drama, though. It isn't
a "Passion", but it's certainly up there with "Lie to Me". Let's say
8.5-ish?

I would! But I agree it would be more fun if the 5x5-ers joined us.

Me neither..

Missed the promo as usual. Can hardly wait till next week, though!

Me didn't watch it. Although reading this message makes my fingers itch
for the remote control to the VCR...Its gonna be tough getting through
the first few weeks, I think.

Better than Hush and WaH and Somthing Blue? Or are you talking for pure
big drama ep type stuff, which has not been very prominent as of yet?
Damn it, your tempting me! I'm not even sure why I'm doing the 5x5
thing, other than its a sound theory. Its not like I'm not spoiled for
the rest of the season...Argh!!!!

Yeah, right. Nice move George. Oh, and Peter said it was really good, so
that doesn't make things any easier.

Well, Andrea, Peter and Fuzzy will read and reply to it, although me,
JB, Saskia, P@rick and Judith won't (ok, so not like you'll miss the
input from the last one all that much ;-)
Discuss away, I'll keep the messages on ice until I've watched it. Keep
in mind that we will be discussing the episode again in 5 weeks. I know
P@rick will post a review once he's seen it (wonder if he managed to
resist the temptation...only reason I did was that I was at a choir
rehersal, as per usual.)

Well, supposedly it just keeps on going in style for the rest of S1 of
Angel, and Buffy eps coming up are also supposed to be quite very good
indeed. Better than the rest of the season. You know your making this
hard, don't you?

reading this and other replies isn't helping.
Must....resist.....temptation....
Well, I thought it would simply be more fun if all the 5x5-ers joined in
as well. Now I saw Peter allready posted his comments on the ep though,
so I'll probably be starting a 5x5 thread (and replying to peters)
sometime tomorrow. It seems I overestimated the amount of 5x5-ers in
this group (plus mattia is about to crack ;-))

Pure big drama ep type stuff. Which is enjoy the most out of all Buffy eps. As
for better than Hush. Well, yes, imho. Better than SB? Well yes again. Better
than WaH? Again yes, but that ones closer......

Well just give in and watch. I promise you won't be sorry (well, at least I

Nope. Peter liking the ep is the best recomendation *any*one could give.....

You *know* you're too much like me in this particular area. Just give in
allready. I mean you're the guy that watched the eps we were to watch together
for the first time before we did so :-)

Indeed. This Angel ep did not do too much spoilage for the Buffy eps. Next
weeks ep could be worse buffy spoiler wise though because of
you-know-what......

Well, not really a passion. Its just as good as the big s3 eps though. s2 is
of course way up there in storylines, but I can't really say that the big eps
from that season were incredibly much better than 5x5. They were better,
absolutly, but we haven't been so close in ages.....

Precisely. We'll just have to discuss now and in 5 weeks....

Right. I tend to have seperate lists for different types of eps,
although I agree the big drama ones are the most bestest ones in
general. When done well.
> for better than Hush. Well, yes, imho. Better than SB? Well yes again. Better
Hard to compare. Those two were mainly comic (IMHO, of course. Hush was
pretty dramatic, to a degree, though.)
> than WaH? Again yes, but that ones closer......
Right. Easier to compare. WaH isn't in my top list, to be honest. The
Veruca thing wasn't dealt with well enough.

Grr...thou art evil, I tell thee! Thou dost tempt me with Angel
episodes! Caught am I twixt opposing desires that rage within my
mind..(did I use twixt correctly there? who knows..)
I'm going to try to hold out becasue a) I'm busy anyway, and b) I do
think its worth it. Watching 2 season finales on one day is especially
appealing :-)

Pretty much. Although the reverse is not always true. Then again, he
really likes SAR, which I for one don't really understand. The point is,
you two *agree* on an ep (from what little information I've been able to
glean from non spoilery posts) to some degree. That's what makes it all
the more scary ;-)

OK then. I'll download the messages and keep them for a while. Did that
with 'Hero', actually.

Phew. 5 weeks is enough time so that repeating yourself a little won't
be stale or nothin? Of course, we all know we can go on about BBC eps
when we feel inspired, and most of us have seen those more than 3 times
already :-)

No! I can hold out! I really can! Thing I see as a biger porblem is only
watching one ep a week in 5 weeks...

Ok, Faith. I was highly disturbed that she broke down and actually
wanted Angel to kill her.. and asking to help her afterwards.
Any spoilage on this? What happens to Faith?
(sorry, I don't watch Angel. but this made me wonder)

It's hard do compare this one to an S3 ep. The atmosphere is totally
different. One could compare it to Helpless, perhaps. About as good, I'd
say.

I probably *do* know what you mean. The promo had just finished when a
friend called and said: "Well, that was a strange ep!" (He's more a BBB
or DGL man and less a P or BI&II man). "And next week ...<Insert that
spoiler here>.
For a moment I was greatly tempted to ask if his mother was called
Andrea.
I admit it makes the chance be getting spoiled a bit bigger, but I hope
they'll keep it to a minimum.
