OK, that rocked.
Mattia, that ending was the spoiler Tafka had read.
But, damn. That was fun.
Strong substantive scenes! For, like, everyone! Cordy rocking the house!
Groo still being funny! Wesley! Creepy slimey demony things that Gunn's
scared of like he was scared of rats in 'Heartthrob'! Lilah and Gavin!
(And Cordy wearing something that covered her hair for the entire
episode...!)
Oh, and yeah: 'Billy' redux. Didn't I tell you it was coming? Huh? :-)
Let's count the references: Angel brings about some evil. That posesses
someone. In the hotel. (Was this a horror movie homage of some kind, too?)
Lorne says 'Go team!'
And Cordy demon powers. Well, you don't wanna do *that* in public.
"Consequences. There's always consequences."
Want more!
Now, what are the odds of resisting this copy of 6x19 until 6x18 shows up,
d'you reckon?
More sane analysis stuff may follow later...

Christ, it's like Tim Bruening with a manifesto sometimes, it really is.
>Spoilers for the episode that I've seen before the americans! Hurrah!
Hmm.
I'm not sure about the ep yet. It was good, certainly, but there's a
niggling feeling I have about it.
>Mattia, that ending was the spoiler Tafka had read.
Yup.
Although something seems wrong about it - it's all a bit
Terminator-ish... I'm sure that these feelings are pikelet's fault
though (the Connor-theory).
>But, damn. That was fun.
I'd guess.
>Strong substantive scenes! For, like, everyone! Cordy rocking the house!
>Groo still being funny! Wesley! Creepy slimey demony things that Gunn's
>scared of like he was scared of rats in 'Heartthrob'! Lilah and Gavin!
I really did like Groo this ep, especially with the colours at the
beginning of the episode - very nice :)
And I'm very pleased to see Gavin back - even if the Gavin/Lilah
scenes were all worked as an after thought to fill-out the script they
worked well IMO.
>(And Cordy wearing something that covered her hair for the entire
>episode...!)
Thankfully.
>Oh, and yeah: 'Billy' redux. Didn't I tell you it was coming? Huh? :-)
I wonder how many people have died because of Angel's mistakes this
season then? :)
>And Cordy demon powers. Well, you don't wanna do *that* in public.
What was it with this? She manages to emit something which kills
whatever she's holding? I still want the consequences....
>More sane analysis stuff may follow later...
How long does it take you man?
Leave alt.tv.angel alone and get your review finished (checks...) Oh,
it is.
Still - discuss here!
-Tafka-
Now you can look to the Sun, and spot the moon
> Hmm.
Is this along the lines of 'why hasn't Cordy been to see Wes'? Becuase I'm
doing that one to death on ata. :-)
I don't think there's anything in the episode that really screams "this is
genius!" But I think there's an awful lot of very, very good material.

Not just that - all the slugs in the hotel. So maybe it was something
along the lines of removing creatures that shouldn't be in this dimension.

Well, y'know how many times they mentioned that nothing comes for free in
this episode? I'm guessing that's significant.

God made this single day for sinners everywhere.
I just don't really have the time, frankly. And the Buffy discussion isn't
particularly in-depth. Oh, and, uh, for the record:
if anyone has questions for any of the starfury guests (checp
starfury.co.uk for a full listing...basically, JAR, Acker, Romanov, Benz,
EE Allen, Kramer, Renner) ask 'em, maybe I'll get answers for ya ;-)

Well, personally, I don't care what's happened to Connor in the
inbetween - I'll tolerate it if it gets to my objective: Where's Holtz
and what's he up-to? If he dies off-screen (i.e during Connor's
upbringing) I will *not* be happy.
I want him back :(

(creature) she's holding?
Y'see?

Gah. She's dead. She'll stay dead. Spike's gone. Anya's kept her
hairstyle for two episodes running. MT looked nice in 18-19 and
manages to not be annoying. The troika have gone. There's another two
weeks for a new episode (unless these rumours of "SR" being 'fake' in
someway are true) - get over it already! Angel's the way forward
people!
We have 3 episodes left and the quality had better be good so we have
a nice plot resolution for the season 'arc'.

Look, if a lot more stuff of import happened in the two (count 'em) Buffy
eps we watched than in 'The Price', quite frankly. A lot of it more
interesting. TP had a good vibe, nice acting, overall niceness, and an
ending that's troubling because of it's possible implications, but it
doesn't compare to the death of a loved character for heartstring pulling.
Simple, really.
Now, if we'd only had 'Entropy' up against 'The Price', it would've been a
far better match, and more 'Angel' discussion.

I would like - with the script for "The Price" indicating Connor's
pointing the weapon at Angel's heart - to have a little
'confrontation' between these two before Holtz jumps through a
mystical portal (like Connor appeared through) to spice it up.
If the W&H scenes were originally scripted then I'd like them to burst
in, Lilah going for it after all - but since they were add-ons it
won't happen.

much :)

'Benediction' sounds Holtz-ian, I thought.

Something happened in 'Entropy'? The best description I've yet come
across of that episode is "'Lover's Walk', as written by Marti Noxon".
Says it all, really. :-P
'The Price' had better character work than either _Buffy_ episode. It was
better plotted, too. And made better use of theme and symbolism. Sure, it
didn't have great Shock Revelation power, but it didn't need to.

there.

About the portal - is there now a danger of the whole universe going
kablooie? Did Connor do something on his side to break through, or is he
back solely due to Angel's dark magic? The fact that he said 'hi dad'
seems to suggest the former.
