Can anyone tell me what to say to her to make het watch Buffy, or which
ep. I should show her to convince het that Buffy is not just another
teenager dramaseries.
Thanx,

Before you buy.
Yep. The everlasting problem of explaining to others why Buffy is so
very extremely good. First of all, with some people its just plain
impossible. If someone decides up front to dislike the show, nothing
you'll say or do or make them watch can change their minds. Try to
convince your girlfriend up front she'll like the show. Try pointing
out similarities in taste etc. That was how I got my friends to watch.
I simple said "Well, we both agree that [insert show/book etc. here]
rocks, so you can certainly trust my taste" and then I threw Prohecy
Gril and Passion on them (which should work, if you just explain what
happened before, before actually watching it). Others I just made to
watch the first eps (WTTH and The Harvest) because I *knew* they'd like
it from the first time they saw it, and I was right. Just ask yourself
what it is that your girlfriends would like in a tv show (I'm really
sort off assuming you know this ;-)) and since Buffy can deliver on
most fronts, just pick out the ep you think she'd like best....
Ok, so that was "How to convert the people you know the The Way of Joss
[tm]" lesson 1. I'm sure the rest of the people in this room (most of
whom have sired [tm] over the net and IRL as well) can help you out
further if this fails.
Hmmmm....Now this gets me thinking. How about the 10(or however much we
need) steps to convert people to Buffydom? We could write 'em,
place 'em up on the upcomming abe page and refer to that. Should be fun
whilst waiting for new eps, no?
See Ya,

She`s just jeaulous, and there is no cure for that. :o)

<nods> Sounds familiar.

Did you tell her about the Smarties?

Hm. Well, since you're asking, Jonathan and myself have recently agreed on
co-writing a book on the subject. "Siring is Painless".
It will include essays from several well-known Buffy fans. Extracts from SiP
have already been posted to several newsgroups, including a.b.e.
We will soon post info on how to order and how to pay.

Hey, that was my idea first! Only my idea was better, 'cos I was going to
get rich.

Hey, I think it would be much better if the SireD wrote this instead
of the SireS! After all, we are the ones who really know what it
takes... you don't know what it was that you said that convinced your
Sired Ones in the end... um crooked sentence, well you know :)
So why don't you just sit back and let me take care of that book.

<shakes head> No, I don't think that's a good idea.

See? You can't write a book when you crook sentences.

Relax, you'll get a signed copy.

Tsk. Money is irrelevant.
Andrea :)))
Really? Hmm...sort of missed that.
I was sort of being serious as well, though. I mean it *would* be a fun
thing to do....
